Shapes of Molecules

In this 2nd part of the shapes of molecules tutorial we look at how to predict the shapes and angles of more complicated covalent molecules such as ClF3, XeF4 plus organic molecules and ions. There are a couple of new shapes introduced such as square planar and T-shaped. Ions containing oxygen can cause problems with electron counting. We demonstrate this and how to solve the problem with examples such as sulphate (SO42-) and nitrate (NO3-).
